Posted: 30-Aug-2012 11:38PM CDT

Work continues to progress on the construction of a Single-Point Urban Interchange [Outside Link] at I-65 exit 22—the interchange with Scottsville Road—in Warren County. From the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet Department of Highways District 3:

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. (Aug. 30, 2012) – Motorists are advised to use caution and reduced speeds while traveling across the Scottsville Road/ US 231 interchange this evening between 8:00 pm and 6:00 am as crews shift traffic for both north and southbound directions on the bridge deck.

Southbound traffic will be shifted onto the recently constructed portion of the bridge deck while the northbound traffic will be shifted back onto the portion built in the spring.

Traffic will be pushed down to one lane for each direction while the lanes are being moved. Crews will also be restriping the new lanes during this time

Once the traffic has been shifted, there will be two lanes of traffic in each direction with left turn lanes for the on-ramps to I-65.

The switch will provide room for the contractor to make preparations regarding the storm sewer and the new median barrier wall for Scottsville Road.

Awarded to Scotty’s Contracting and Stone, LLC in October of 2011 for $19.8 million, the project is on target for completion this fall.
