District 4 Traffic Impact Report

From Kentucky Tranportation Cabinet Department of Highways District 4 (Sept. 11, 2012):

KYTC District 4:  Breckinridge, Grayson, Green, Hardin, Hart, LaRue, Marion, Meade, Nelson, Taylor, & Washington Counties

 

Interstate / Parkway Systems

BG Parkway –  Bidirectional Traffic Is Now Diverted To Eastbound Lanes - Road Surface Restoration, Eastbound & Westbound in Nelson County (MP 24-29)

-          This work is comparable to the section completed last year just to the east of Bardstown.

-          Crossovers are constructed for bidirectional on the westbound lanes as work continues on the eastbound lanes of the parkway.

-          Wide load restrictions are in place.

-          Completion is expected in November.

 

BG Parkway –  Reduced To One Lane Each Direction – Preparation For Road Surface Restoration On Eastbound Lanes, Washington County (MP 41-48)

-          Crossovers are being constructed for bidirectional on the westbound lanes as work begins on eastbound lanes of the parkway

-          Wide load restrictions are in place with bidirectional on westbound lanes

-          Completion is expected in November

-          This project reconstructs eastbound lanes only at this time

 

WK Parkway – Bridge Construction At Mile Point 119 – Alert For Temporary Lane Closures EB & WB As Work Progresses

-          The bridge work is on Grayson County Road 1054 (Clifty Church Road)

-          Work should be complete by November 3rd

 

WK Parkway – Bridge Construction At Mile Point 120 – Be Alert For Temporary Lane Closures EB & WB As Work Progresses

-          The bridge work is on Hardin County Road 1298 (Rock Creek Road)

-          Work should be complete by October 19th

 

WK Parkway – EB & WB Reduced To One Lane For KY 1375 Bridge Work MP 126-128 (this location is between the KY 84 & KY 222 overpasses)

-          Crews will replace the KY 1375 bridge superstructure over the parkway.   EB and WB are reduced to one lane each direction during the entire project.

-          Project should be complete by late September

 

 

Breckinridge County –

KY 144 – Resurfacing At MP 14-20 (From Approximately KY 256 – KY 886)

-          Work Is Complete

 

KY 259 – Resurfacing At MP 13-22 (From Approximately KY 2779 – KY 144)

-          Work Is Complete

 

KY 261 – Reduced To One Lane At MP 12.6 (Near Creek Run Rd)

-          Utility work requires this closure

-          Temporary traffic signals are directing traffic

 

 

Grayson County –

KY 720 – Closed At MP 5.7 (Between Millliner Road and US 62)

-          P & L Railroad is performing work on a their railroad crossing at this location

-          Detour signs are posted via US 62 / KY 2191 / KY 920

-          Work should be complete and the road reopened to traffic by the end of the day on Thursday, September 13th

 

*Clifty Church Road (County Road) – Road Closed for bridge replacement over the WK Parkway

-          Contractor has 75 calendar days to reopen the road (November 3rd)

-          Detour using KY 720

 

*Rock Creek Road (Hardin County Road Near The Grayson County Line) – Road Closed for bridge replacement over the WK Parkway

-          Contractor has 75 calendar days to reopen the road (October 19th)

-          Detour using KY 720

 

 

Hardin County –

            US 31W Bypass – Bidirectional Traffic MP 2.1 –  3.7 (From approximately KY 1357 to US 31W)

-          Crews are reconstructing NB and SB Lanes.  Bridge work for the KY 1600 overpass continues.  Reduced speed limits are in effect through the duration of the project.

 

KY 251 –  Reduced To One Lane In Sections Of Cross Drain Work (Side Streets Affected From French St./Pear Orchard Through Ring Road To Bluegrass Lane) – Widening Project Preliminary Work

-          Crews are working on drainage pipes

-          Unnecessary traffic should avoid this route during construction

 

KY 1375 –  Closed At Bridge Over WK Parkway – Bridge Replacement Project

-          Local traffic has access up to closure point

-          Through traffic must detour

-          Project should be complete by late September

 

KY 1600 – Stopped traffic / minor delays possible (near the US 31W Bypass bridge)

-          Contract crews moving material into and out of the work area near the US 31W Bypass bridge will require flaggers to stop traffic for short intervals (5-10 minutes) until these trucks enter/exit the roadway.

-          Minor delays possible.

-          Motorists may wish to use a detour to avoid work zone / potential delays.

-          These delays will be possible for the remainder of the KY 361 (E2RC) Section 1 project.

 

KY 3005 (Ring Road) –  Outside Lanes Closed Each Direction At KY 1600 For Road Widening-Resurfacing And Curb Construction

-          This closure will last approximately until the end of September

-          Closures/work will only be performed Monday morning through Friday afternoon… All lanes will be open for weekend traffic

-          Contractor has 75 calendar days to reopen the road (October 19th)

-          Detour using KY 720

Nelson County –

            KY 322 – Railroad Crossing Maintenance At MP 2 (Between Froman Greenwell Lane & US 31E)

-          Work Is Complete

 

 

 

Please note this information contains state maintained routes only.  Work schedules quickly and often do change because of weather and other factors.  Other work (including mowing/utility maintenance) my not be included in this report due to the rapid nature in which these activities take place and move from one location to another.
