Ban extends to cell phone use for 16- and 17-year-old drivers
FRANKFORT, Ky. (July 15, 2010) – Governor Steve Beshear’s ongoing effort to make Kentucky roads safer takes a big step beginning today, when a new law takes effect to ban texting for all drivers and cell phone use for drivers under 18.

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – The Department of Highways District 3 Office advises motorists to be aware of a speed limit reduction on Three Springs Road (KY 884) in Warren County.
The speed limit will be reduced from 55 mph to 45 mph from the Minit Mart to 500 feet past the Long Road/Neal Howell Road intersection. At that point it will change to 55 mph.
Variable message boards will be posted in the area alerting motorists of this change that will go into effect on Friday.

Maintenance work requires complete shutdown
BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – (August 18, 2010) The Department of Highways District 3 Office advises motorists to prepare for the closure of the Aberdeen Bridge on Tuesday, September 7.
Located on US 231 just north of Morgantown, the bridge closure will remain in place for approximately 55 days while Hall Contracting of Kentucky performs a complete deck replacement. Due to the nature of the work required for this maintenance work, the bridge will have to be completely shut down.
