Press release:

Work Begins on KY 2022 Bridge at Buckhorn
JACKSON, KY - (Dec. 6, 2004) -- Emergency repairs will begin today on a short bridge crossing Schoolhouse Branch of Squabble Creek on KY 2022 near Buckhorn.
One lane of the bridge was closed last week, and vehicles crossing the bridge were limited to three tons in weight and seven feet in width, following the discovery of damage to the structure caused by overweight vehicles.
The Department of Highways plans to completely rebuild the bridge by replacing the worn, damaged beams with new ones. Weather permitting, the work should be completed by the end of the week and the bridge reopened to normal traffic at that time. The rebuilt bridge will be posted with an appropriate weight limit to be determined by Transportation Cabinet engineers.
Traffic will be maintained during the construction process, but motorists in the area will encounter some short delays. Traffic stoppages of one to two hours are possible during some of the work.
