Transportation Cabinet conducts public meeting on proposed project to improve KY 191 in Wolfe County

JACKSON, KY – On Tuesday, Aug. 17, personnel from the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet Department of Highways District 10 office conducted a public meeting on proposed improvements to two curves on KY 191 in Wolfe County.

Approximately 25 residents of the area, public officials and other concerned citizens attended the hearing to view a presentation by District 10 personnel and consultants, receive information on the project, and provide their input into this proposed highway project. The project will result in the realignment of two curves along KY 191 in the Daysboro area that have alignment deficiencies. The curves are located at Daysboro at milepoint 12.8 and near Fallen Road at milepoint 13.6.

Two alignments are under consideration for each of the two curves to be reconfigured in this project. One alignment provides for a 50 miles per hour design speed, the other provides for a 45 mph design speed. Both curves would be relocated to the north of the existing roadway.

Those in attendance provided comments on the project, asked several questions, viewed design plans of the area showing the general scope of the project, and learned what properties may potentially be impacted by the project. They were also provided comment forms on which they could express their opinions on the project.

The project manager will receive written comments on the project through Sept. 1. Photographs and plans displayed at the public meeting may be viewed at the Department of Highways District 10 office, 473 Highway 15 South, Jackson, during the comment period.
