From Kentucky Transportation Cabinet Deparment of Highways District 10 (May 16, 2012):

Area residents invited to attend public meeting on improvements to US 460 in Magoffin County

JACKSON, KY –  Residents of Magoffin County are invited to attend a public informational meeting to discuss a project to improve US 460 between the Mountain Parkway and KY 114 in Salyersville.

The meeting will be held Thursday, May 24 from 5-7 p.m. at the Magoffin County Courthouse. It will be an “open house” format meeting with no formal presentation.

Representatives from the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet and project consultants will be available to answer questions and provide information about the project. Handouts will be available describing the project’s purpose and need, the right-of-way acquisition process and potential utility relocation concerns.

A project is under consideration to reconstruct the existing portion of US 460 to a new facility. Under the proposal, the route would be widened from two travel lanes with a center left-turn lane to four travel lanes with a center left-turn lane.

Persons with disabilities who wish to attend the meeting but have special accessibility needs that require assistance should contact the project manager, Corbett Caudill, at (606) 666-8841 to request special assistance.
