From Kentucky Transportation Cabinet Department of Highways District 9 (Sept. 7, 2012): Traffic advisory: Road work on KY 11 in Bath County Pavement improvement project
FLEMINGSBURG, Ky. – Motorists should watch for traffic changes on KY 11 in Bath County in the coming weeks as contractors have started work on a $321,000 pavement improvement project. The project, awarded by the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet to Temple and Temple Excavating and Paving Inc., includes pavement sealing operations and microsurfacing on four miles of KY 11 from the KY 1106 intersection at Bethel south toward Sharpsburg.
Microsurfacing is a high-tech process using a thin layer of quick-set paving material to preserve the roadway surface. The work is similar to asphalt paving, and will require one-lane traffic during daytime operations.
During the next several weeks, motorists should watch for flaggers and be prepared for periods of stopped traffic. In addition, motorists are advised to avoid driving on newly-placed paving material. Contractors will be available to assist motorists at intersections.
Road work is subject to change depending on weather conditions. Motorists are asked to heed all warning signs, “Drive Smart” in work zones and remain aware of workers and construction equipment when traveling. | |
