Smaller Lexington Items: Local Closures and a Memorial Highway
Chinoe Road between Fontaine and Hart roads closed during the day Aug. 3–7 for sanitary sewer repairs, and Shillito Park Road closed in September for paving to create an entrance for the new Senior & Therapeutic Recreation Center. In July, a section of KY 1973 in northern Fayette County was dedicated as the "Dr. John Dallas Stempel Memorial Highway" in honor of the late director of UK's Patterson School of Diplomacy, under a resolution sponsored by state Rep. Vanessa Grossl.
