CORRECTION: I-24 WB Ramps Closing on Monday in Christian County
Expected 2-3 week blockage
MADISONVILLE, Ky. (Oct. 22, 2026) – One of the ramps closing next week at the intersection of I-24 and U.S. 41A next week was incorrectly identified in the fist release. Crews will be closing the exit ramp from westbound I-24 to U.S. 41A and the cloverleaf entrance ramp from northbound U.S. 41A to westbound I-24 rather than the ramp from southbound U.S. 41A to I-24 westbound.

MADISONVILLE, Ky. (Oct. 22, 2026)
– A contractor for the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet plans to block two ramps on westbound Interstate 24 beginning on Monday, Oct. 26 at 6 a.m.
At Exit 86, crews will block the exit ramp from I-24 westbound to U.S. 41A and the entrance ramp from U.S. 41A to westbound I-24 as the project to reconstruct I-24 from the 85.5-mile point to the Tennessee State Line (92 mm) continues.
These ramps will be closed for approximately 2-3 weeks while they are reconstructed to tie in with the new I-24 westbound roadway surface.
Motorists can detour using I-169 at Exit 81.
The I-24 reconstruction project, which began in March, is scheduled to be concluded by mid-November, with all four lanes of the interstate reopening to traffic.
